Discussion #1

Dr. Carson was using these cool words to teach students who are afraid of work and do not like to go to schools or colleges. It is simple and fun and also to show students that success is not money and gave examples of this.  So, who loves and wants success and likes to learn can go to college or school and you intend to learn and love this is not because you are forced to do this. Because you want and also you should love it if you do not like it you will fail it. Even if the simplest things you did not like it will not succeed

Discussion #2

If you want to succeed with something you have to determine what to say. For example, I want to study at university. This is the wrong decision and will fail.  The truth is I want to study at the university to graduate from mechanical engineering and get the highest possible marks and work and seek to get the expertise to help me when I do a job.  This means when you want to succeed in something that answers you specify small details. Small details are much more important than the big details Second answer you think outside the circle This means the job when you submit to companies Yes Look at your marks Have you been a diligent student or lazy because this will reflect on the work and the important thing  Is the experience you have to be practical at the same time I mean practicality not only study’s

Discussion #3

I will discuss question number three because it was the most important between then or the other discussions. (Dr. Carson speaks frequently to high-school students because he has learned something about life that he believes can be of value to them. if you were asked to give a single piece of advice to a group of younger students, what would you say?

First of all, the high-school stage is the most important stage in which students pass, especially when you are in adolescence. Because the student will be growing, he wants to be man or women. so, he/she will start learning new things and they consider things of value to him/her. And their parents cannot control them, then they do not care about their parents and are not afraid of them. The role of parents protects their son from bad things and guide him to the right path by talking with him/her and treat him as a man. The most important things it will affect the guys are his friends. So, the friends are the foundation that affects on the person becomes a good person and educator or corrupt man. So, the job of a parent who wants his son to be a good person is to lay their parents to choose righteous friends.

Second, high-school is important from the side of education. Because high school is entering the young people to the workforce. So, you have to do it, not like the college you are free; you do it or not. Also, it gives the people who are in high school basic information for instance in reading, writing, and math it will help them pretty much when they will be going to college or university. So, I work hard in school you be kind of relax when you try to go to any university. If not, you will have a lot of complicated problems and you will be frustrating, and you will not to college.

It also friends are the effect on the student from the learning side, for example, if there are a student and his friends they smart, and they are doing very well in school this student he will be like them and he will be trying to make the same thing like them. They will be all of the same thinking and the same things they like it or not. But if this student starts following lazy student he will do the same thing if they smoke or spend the time at silly things he will do the same things. So, friends are so important if you choose them right your life great like, exactly in high school. Because they will make smart and same thing you will have fun with them. Also, most students are spending their time with their friends more than they are spending time with their families. Also, we trust our friends that we met when we were young more than friends we knew. So, my opinion is; the high school is the most important stage in our life or young people not just for success, my point is they will change your mind as critical thinking and after that, you will get the success in the life.

My Opinion for the class ''Blog #6''

1. READ 0304 Major Exam #1 vs. Major Exam #2: What did you do differently the second time around?

I feel pretty good about Exam #2 from the side of Exam #1 because when I studied for Exam #1 I kept the information but when I studied for the second exam I applied the rules based on understanding. First of all, I have improved my vocabulary more than before because when I was solving in this test I was faster than before, second, I was understood some of the topics by 50% and when I studied it one more time I got more understanding more maybe reach to 95%. I think we need to get more test or exam instead of quizzes. Because when use study a lot of information you will memorize for a long time in the contract the quizzes; you study the lesson for short time to get the grades and then your brain will forget it. So, my suggestion is if we take such as 5 tests instead of 2 tests maybe after two chapters that will good for two sides. First, the ability of the brain to memorize information for a long time. Second, Exam or test is more grades and 5 tests give student many of chance to improve himself but also quizzes every day is very good because of it always the student in the track. For part two in the Exam, last two questions were good, but the first two questions were too long, we practice a lot in the class at the paragraph, not for the whole article, I think everyone in class able to solve it but it talks a long time.

4. READ 0304: When you think of your future career, how do you see our class discussions complimenting your work?

I think if anyone has great Reading he is a successful person because Reading is something basic in our lives and we need to read every day, so we are reading by relaxing we will be enjoying in our life, it will make them think in our life simple and easy. Also Reading is important for our career because a lot, of course, every semester every student he has between 100 to 120 hours to finish his/her career and any course need to read so if you have good reading or if you are good reader you will understand the course very well and you will look at main ideas when you read. Also, we have strong vocabulary these vocabularies, it’s like terms it means a lot of simple words. Reading practicing in class it is so great because it is improving our reading and if we read more we will be faster when we read and after that, we will focus on the main idea into the paragraph.

6. READ 0304: What do you wish we read more about?

I wish reading more in the class with correct premonition more activate if we can get extra credit to improve our average such as we look at our journal or blogs which is it has low score we can work on it maybe we will get more credits, but I think we are great and Mr. Still work hard with us and he spend many years teaching this class or teaching class. And we are practicing a lot that great thing to understand the topic, and I like to deepen the subject with more details and using many rules and .if we can focus a little bit on the second book by quizzes and questions we can memorize this vocabulary for a long time that my opinion because I need more vocabulary but I think also its good for native student.

My Interest Blog #5

I will talk about my favorites thing I do it when I was free and in enjoying the time. I love soccer as a kind of sports. Most of my time when I was free I spend it on watching games of soccer. Every day I watch the news of sport especially soccer news. My favorites player is Cristiano Ronaldo Dos Santos Aveiro. He born in Portuguese and he’s old 34 years old. I like soccer for him and especially games of soccer.

Soccer or any kind of sport is something has to value in the world. first of all, there is a lot of teams is famous and historical. When I was small I was encouraging Real Madrid as a team of soccer sport in capital Spain Madrid. Particularly I encouraged team because Cristiano Ronaldo was playing in this team. Real Madrid bought Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United in 2009. They pay to Manchester United 93 million Euros for this great payer and that was the most expensive in the history of soccer. His language is Portuguese and when he was in Man. United he learned English also when he came to Real Madrid he learned Spanish.

He is from poor he was cleaning the streets and he loves playing football. When he started he was playing in a small team in Portugal he one day's Man. United seem him and they like how he is playing then they buy him. He played in Real Madrid and he achieved a lot of tournaments in Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Now he is playing in Juventus in Italy, he went to this team last year.

So, I like to watch him when he is playing. The watching and playing soccer is something like dopamine affects at me when it, when there is a game or something, includes soccer. I remember before 2 years I had final Exam and in the same time it was final of Champions League so just I only have one day to study to this final, I cannot study and there is a great game between Real Madrid and Juventus. I watched the game, but my Dad was mad at me because he wants me to study, and when the game end he tells me to complete my studying, but I said I want to watch the championship cup lift. I also playing soccer since I was kids. I was playing in my class team, with my friends before and after school, in the neighborhood and at the weekend, we were going to the playground we were enjoying this time.

Ronaldo not just player and playing soccer and has a lot of great things in his life. first of all, he never drinks the wine because his father died because of frequent drinking of wine and he died an early age.

He does a lot of charitable and humanitarian work. He donated his money to the kids, especially children with cancer. Cristiano Ronaldo donates also to Syria families because they emigrated from their state while they are at war. He donates his gold shoes, which is the most award-winning player of the season for the children of Gaze.

Nicholas Carr & David Brook's Article

According to what he said Nicholas Carr first describes the smartphones as bad, and he wants to take the smartphones from the audience and throw them away. He likened the smartphones to sex and he stated it has to do with the brain nerves that led to dopamine. Dopamine occurs in humans something your effect on our minds, or something used to it, your body needs Dopamine without your consciousness. The impact of smartphones is on us, which helps us find new information. First, it reduces our view of life and secondly social life. He said it had a huge environment of unlimited information across social networking sites. He said that it affected us all with compulsive behavior, for example, that we withdraw our phones from the pocket without any effect, and no notices or before going to sleep. Then he explained the search rate is ten seconds when the people search for something and then find several sites with new information. “Social networking sites want this thing and people continue to do it as companies and invest money profits as new companies,” he said. And put a point on what if we used our minds ourselves instead of these sites, and we can easily adapt to it and according to his opinion said it is very good this way and at the same time we must consider the negative things. He described how our memory works and how to get information to our minds regarding what we learned from a conversation and read it. He said the new information should be linked to something you know from experience or work. The problem of the mind is when you are looking at social networking sites there is too much information to memorize. Then the dependence on our phones or computer or positions of research influenced the focus of our minds, and they sacrifice the capabilities of our minds. According to David Brook’s Article “If you’re like most of us, you’re wondering what the Internet is doing to your attention span. You toggle over to check your phone during even the smallest pause in real-life. You feel those phantom vibrations even when no one is texting you. You have trouble concentrating for long periods.” Almost 95% of David Brook’s Article and Nicholas Carr are of course similar. This paragraph explains and summarizes the first and third idea of Nicholas Carr. Nicholas Carr also spoke about the researchers and about email and Facebook and likened it to an almost infinite crowd of the same analogy for David Brook’s Article. He also likened social networking sites to constant anticipation and David Brook’s Article he said was a world of new information. He also said that neurologist Susan said to people using the Internet had a short memory and Nicholas Carr gave two examples; Nicholas Carr made a test and he gave it to two groups; one of them had internet and one of them had books, and it turned out that the group that was working without the Internet got a higher percentage of the test. And according to what he said, research at the The University of Oslo and a difference between people reading a printed page get more understanding than those who read on a screen. The second idea for Nicholas Carr was the positives of David Brook’s Article.

Palestine

The homeland is a few letters, a word that is small in size. The homeland is like the mother and the family, the warm embrace of every citizen on his land and eats his fruits. The love of homeland is born with man, so the love of the homeland is inherent in the individual; he feels that there is a connection between him and this land that grows in her lap. And the love of the homeland is not exclusive to anyone; since everyone loves his country. Homeland is a symbol, a pride, and pride; therefore, we must defend and protect it with all strength, to preserve it as and to appreciate it for providing security to us. This country has rights that everyone must abide as long as they live in it, these rights include: preserving it, protecting it from all evil, raising it to highest levels, maintaining its cleanliness, protecting its public property, and protecting our lives in the event of any danger. The poet said in love with the homeland.

I am from Palestine. I was born and raised in a great city called Gaza. I have a big family, 3 brothers and one sister. I have two uncles, seven aunts in the father’s side and four uncles, three aunts in the mother’s side. So, I have a lot of cousins we are like friends. But this is not a huge proportion of existing families there are many huge families, so our family is small relative to other families.

The Islamic cities have two festivities,” We call it Eid”: Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr. First Eid is al-Adha, Adha means in Arabic sacrifice this last for four days. Most people sacrifice sheep in the morning and then they distributed to the neighbors, relatives, and friends. Second Eid is Eid al-Fitr, Fitr means eating. We were fasting for the month, and then we shall eat in this last for three days. Most people in the first day eat type of fish it calls Herring fish, but not fresh, they put salt on it and they store it for a long time maybe one month. By nature, children are given money and daughters as well as mothers and sisters not only for children.

Israel occupied the state of Palestine and took over and seized the property that was before 71 years ago in 1948. Divided the state of Palestine to two areas: Gaza Strip and The West Bank.

The capital of Palestine Jerusalem. It is one of the oldest cities in the world and is considered holy to the three major Abrahamic religions-Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Jerusalem is between the Mediterranean Sea and the Dead Sea.

Gaza port is one of the most important parts of Palestine. It is a very nice place. When we-me and my friends- got bored we were going to this port.  Also, in the morning we were walking or running in this beautiful place. Next, to this port there is a beach where we do a roast, play soccer, play video games, play cards and joke together.

3. How does David Brooks’ ideas about the benefits of nurturing crystallized intelligence apply to your first month of the spring 2019 semester thus far? Be specific. Find three connections.

According to David Brooks, “Crystallized intelligence is the ability to use experience, knowledge and the products of lifelong education that have been stored in long-term memory. It is the ability to make analogies and comparisons about things you have studied before. Crystallized intelligence accumulates over the years and leads ultimately to understanding and wisdom.”

I need to get experience. How can I get this experience? Not from online life such as watching videos or reading on Google. I must do this work on offline life. I have to try and work with a team. I want to complete at least one internship as a part of their undergraduate degree requirements. Interning with a company in my career field is an excellent way to gain hands-on experience. I have to be in volunteer positions where I can increase work experience. Some companies look favorably on volunteer activities.

I need to acquire parts of knowledge and apply them in different settings. I need to take breaks to improve my memory and my ability to solve problems. Learn in differing environments and work with knowledge in differing ways and use multiple senses.

Offline learning, at its best, is more like being a member of a book club than a cocktail party. When you’re offline you’re not in constant contact with the universe. There are periods of solitary reading and thinking and then more intentional gatherings to talk and compare.

Connectedness meant conversation. A great deal of conversation who become each other's databases and servers, leaning on each other's memories, multiplying, amplifying and anchoring the things. We could imagine by sharing our dreams.

The time has come to free our mind, to look up from the screen in front of us and to see the real world again, to exchange a smile (yes, a real smile, not an emoji) with a real person. Update our state, not our status, and disconnect from the world on my screen and reconnect with the real world.

Also, spending so much time on social media makes us less social and even unaware of the real world and the very real people in it. An organization that equips a global movement of community professionals. It’s worth putting in some effort to build communities in the offline world.

And, you have to turn off the offline and online life. Thinking about your goals, what are you going to do tomorrow? Not the same methods or habits. At least one hour in every week, you should think about your goal.

All you need to do is define what goals you want to achieve, and what skills you need to acquire to make it easier.
